For clients who live overseas or in another state most of the year but have residences in NYC with vehicles parked in garages in the tri-state area, we can send our drivers to their garage to run their vehicle. When clients don’t turn on their vehicle for more than a month, six things usually happen to the clients’ vehicles.
1. Car batteries become weak & won’t start when the client finally arrives in New York.
2. Gasoline in the engine becomes spoiled and often damage the engine.
3. Vehicle parts aren’t lubricated frequently enough via the engine oil, and parts rust or get damaged because lack of use.
4. Bird dropping, or rust stains from water runoff from pipes in a garage are also serious concerns. If a bird dropping or rust stains sit on a vehicle for a long period of time, it could lead to permanent paint damage. Therefore, routine car washes are imperative to avoid permanent damage to the vehicles coating.
5.The tires will deflate and consequently, degrade. When vehicles are parked in the same spot, it causes flat spots on tires because the weight of the vehicle sits on the same tire spot for a long period of time.
6. We also check the engine, tailpipe, and undercarriage for critters. During the winter while our clients become snowbirds enjoying Florida, rodents are staying warm in the client’s engine and undercarriage causing damage. Our team will check the engine, undercarriage and tailpipe for nest and critters and upon consultation with the client or client’s assistant, we’ll take the necessary action to address any problems.
Additionally, our drivers will run the air conditioner and other parts of the vehicle. This helps maintain the air conditioner and keep the parts in working order and the air quality fresh.
Lastly, in addition to running the vehicles engine or driving the vehicle around the block to keep the vehicle operating properly, our security drivers are available to take the vehicle to car dealerships, auto mechanics as well as updating vehicle inspection stickers.
